IVF training at the Assisted Conception Unit at Guys Hospital, London
I received the Commonwealth Scholarship for the year 2004-2005 and continued working as a Fellow in Reproductive medicine till 2006.This has enabled me to acquire training in assisted conception, especially IVF at the reputed Guys and St. Thomas hospital in London. My training has involved exposure to the clinical aspects of patient selection and preparation and decision regarding optimal dosage regimen in IVF.Adequate exposure has been given to the identification and management of the various complications of superovulation, like ovarian hyperstimulationand other complications like ectopic pregnancy. I have been exposed to the embryological aspects of IVF-ICSI and have gained knowledge in laboratory set-up, embryo grading and observed ICSI and assisted hatching being performed. I have performed oocyte collection, initially under supervision and now independently. I have also been trained in embryo transfer techniques under ultrasound guidance. I have been sufficiently exposed to various aspects of male infertility and have assisted in various surgical sperm retrieval procedures. I am currently writing a review article on the role of aspirin in assisted conception and recurrent miscarriages. I have also worked on an audit to see the various factors which play a role in improving success rate of intrauterine insemination. I have also gained valuable experience in minimally invasive operations ,ie, hysteroscopic and laparoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic means to deal with various aspects of subfertility. I have also spent some time in the embryology laboratory to gain some hands on experience. At the end of my tenure I feel competent in being able to provide all necessary clinical and surgical expertise required to run a successful Reproductive Medicine Unit, including IVF.
Experience at Assisted Reproduction and Gynaecology Centre, London: 2006
This unit in London has the highest IVF-ICSI success rates in the UK. It also runs a full-fledged Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) programme. There is a lot of emphasis on implantation mechanisms and reproductive immunology. This experience would be critical in my future career in Assisted Reproduction.
Consultant IVF unit-Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi, Novem06-Mar07.
Working as a Consultant in the IVF unit at Sir Ganga ram Hospital which has a very heavy load of patients with Reproductive Health problems and does about 300-400 cycles/year. It has a state of the art ART facilities including IVF-ICSI and also upcoming PGD facilities.

The unit offers complete work up, investigation and management of infertile patients, both male and female . All investigatios and procedures, radiologic as well as endoscopic are carried out in the same unit. A state of the art IVF lab is also being set up under my supervision.
